Getting Started

Last updated March 6, 2026

Set up your first calendar, choose the right template pack, and understand how CalendarDoc treats live planning versus print output.

Start from the matching template pack

Keep the app as the source of truth

Publish and export after the workflow is stable

Pick a real starting point

Start from the template pack that matches the job: editorial, finance, school, nonprofit, operations, or personal planning.

The product is strongest when the template, lane vocabulary, and event metadata match the real workflow instead of forcing everything into a blank monthly grid.

Build the live version first

CalendarDoc is now a live planning system first and a print/export system second.

Create the working calendar in the app, then publish public views, generate PDFs, or hand data off through ICS and CSV once the calendar is ready.

Use the app flow in order

Choose a template, import or sync source data, structure the event fields, then decide which stakeholders should see full, approved, or public output.

That sequence avoids rebuilding the same information later in print layouts or public pages.
